Engaging Blog Content: Part 7 - Set a Schedule

Does it surprise you that you are the only person to read this post? It shouldn't. I haven't practiced what I am about to preach. Listen very closely because this may be the most important step to creating an active audience.

Engaging content goes beyond writing good posts. Every blog entry you scribe with your blood, sweat, and tears (or maybe just a QWERTY keyboard) is a piece of something, a piece of a community. Just like a shopping mall with one good store and a bunch of empty store fronts a blog with only a few posts can't be engaging no matter how good those few posts are.

There is no secret to this. Believe me if there was I would have hundreds of thousands of views reading and commenting on my posts. Just get a calendar, jot your ideas, and publish them on a set schedule.

Don't believe that a schedule is important? It is imperative that you keep a schedule and give your audience what they want. This is about what they want, not what you want to put in. Listen to an expert. Gary Vaynerchuk (host of Wine Library TV) has a little video that explains how to build a good internet television show. Translate to a blog. Watch here.

Now go forth with your calendar and QWERTY and write!
